To conclude, Ruben Rada, an internationally renowned Uruguayan artist, will present a musical show.

RUBEN 'NEGRO' RADA is a prominent figure in South American music. Ambassador of the candombe beat worldwide, Latin pop star author of "Cha Cha Muchacha," children's music pioneer, television presenter and comedian, an incomparable showman who has been captivating fans for almost 50 years ... Ruben Rada combines many artists into one major artist who has recorded over 35 albums, received the 2011 Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and is the author of the most beautiful Uruguayan songs and candombes.

Think of him as a musical alchemist, an eclectic genius with an extraordinary understanding of the African-American musical tradition. No other South American musician has experimented with such an exuberant fusion of seemingly different musical genres as Uruguayan master Ruben "Negro" Rada.

Born in Montevideo in 1943, Rada developed a taste for quality music from around the world, from the Beatles and Ray Charles to tango maestro Carlos Gardel. In 1965, his band 'El Kinto Conjunto' proposed an innovative combination: Latin rock with touches of tango, funk, jazz and pop. He formed pioneer candombe-beat band 'Totem' and explored the African roots of the music of the black population of Uruguay.

In the 70s, Rada moved to the United States, where he performed with music legends such as Ray Barretto, Flora Purim and Hermeto Pascoal. His return to South America in the 80's was triumphant and, while working in Argentina and Uruguay, he recorded several albums, including the hit '¿Quién va a cantar?.

After a few years working in Mexico as a producer and arranger, during the second half of the 90s he recorded the prestigious "Montevideo" and "Montevideo 2" albums in New York. He has collaborated, among others, with Jon Anderson –lead vocalist of progressive rock band Yes– as well as Spanish singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat, Argentine singer Mercedes, Brazilian singer-songwriter Milton Nascimento, and flamenco-pop group Ketama. He continues touring and recording, always promoting the beauty of candombe music. During 2012 he presented the mega show 'Decades' on Uruguayan television, which included artists and stars from all over America.

Ruben Rada and his band present a show that covers his career hits, most of which are part of the triple album (compilation) "El álbum negro", published to celebrate the Grammy he received.
